3X INVESTMENT IN IMPACT PROJECTS

Amongst all the changes we are making, the most important change is the tripling of the Impact Fund.

Our Impact Fund has supported a wide range of social impact entrepreneurs, charities and community initiatives, including anti-FGM charity Keep The Drums, Lose the Knife, which is trying to eradicate the practice in the UK and Sierra Leone, and body positivity platform Anti-Diet Riot Club.

Other local businesses and initiatives we’ve supported include reading club Dope Readers Club, an inclusive community and safe space for young readers with an accent on Black and POC authors; hyper-local charity SE15 Community Fund, which supports families in the cost of living crisis; bicycle repair shop UpCycle, which trains children to fix bikes and encourages bike-riding amongst minorities; and web development agency Concat, which trains women from war-torn countries to be coders.

We will be making 9 Impact Awards a quarter (27 a year) totalling an investment in the prosperity of our community of £144,000. We will also be running more community focused events and surgeries using our member volunteer hours, so there will be lots of opportunities to support businesses making a positive impact in their communities.
